Child and Adolescent Anxiety and Mood Program (ChAAMP)

Welcome!

The Child and Adolescent Anxiety and Mood Program (ChAAMP) is a treatment research center dedicated to improving mental health care for youths with anxiety and depression. Our goals are to develop efficient, effective interventions for these common youth problems, to improve the lives of impacted families, and to ease the burden on the providers and systems dedicated to their care. We aim to design treatments that operate through efficient transdiagnostic mechanisms, are scalable for active clinical practice, and are effective with the broad population of youths in need of services. The center is affiliated with the Department of Psychology and JDP in Clinical Psychology at San Diego State University and directed by Dr. V. Robin Weersing. Our research takes place at our San Diego research lab, located near the SDSU campus at the Alvarado medical complex, and on-site with community providers in a variety of healthcare settings. We use a broad range of approaches (i.e., randomized clinical trials, hybrid effectiveness-implementation designs, meta-analysis) to accomplish our program goals.
